KASHMIR

Kashmir rugs are made in Pakistan using very soft and silky wool. The motifs are based on the patterns of the Turkmen rugs and they are sometimes called Pakistani Bukhara to emphasize the bonds with the famous rugs made in Turkmenistan, Iran and Afghanistan. These rugs, with linear and geometric patterns enjoyed enormous success in the 1970s and are still greatly admired in Europe and the United States.
