VARAMIN
Varamin is a small village not far from Teheran and its name is linked to an original decorative motif known as mina khani. The design, consisting of rows of daisies in alternating colours fills the entire rug. The flowers are connected by curving stems that form a series of circles on the field. The most frequently used colours are various shades of red and blue, and the workmanship is excellent. Varamin rugs are highly prized since production is quite limited. In addition to those with the mina khani pattern there are other, albeit more rare, but still rather original designs that are typical of this provenance
